🕯️ Candle Care

First Burn
Allow your candle to melt completely across the surface during its first burn (about 2–3 hours). This prevents tunneling and helps the candle burn evenly for its lifetime.

Trimming the Wick
Before each lighting, trim your wooden wick to ⅛ – ¼ inch. This keeps the flame steady and minimizes soot.

Burn Time
Enjoy your candle in intervals of 3–4 hours. Extinguish, allow the wax to cool, then relight as desired.

Extinguishing the Flame
Gently blow out or snuff the flame rather than covering the jar. Avoid moving hot wax.

Storage & Care
Keep candles away from drafts, direct sunlight, and high heat. Store with the lid on or upright in a cool, dry space.

Safety Reminder
Never leave a burning candle unattended. Keep away from pets, children, curtains, and anything flammable.

Every flame is a small act of stillness. Treat it with care, and it will reward you with light.

💡 Product Questions

What kind of wax do you use?
Each candle is hand-poured with 100% pure beeswax — clean-burning, renewable, and naturally air purifying.

Do your wicks crackle?
Yes. We use sustainably sourced wooden wicks that burn with a soft, soothing crackle.

Are your fragrances natural?
Our fragrance blends are synthetic, but are phthalate-free and paraben-free, and as clean as we can get them. Your health matters to us so as we expand, we will also be testing essential oils. 

Why did my candle tunnel?
Beeswax is a natural material that can vary with temperature. A full first burn, 2-4 hours, and trimming the wick will minimize tunneling.

How long will my candle last?
Our 12 oz tumbler typically burns 50 + hours when cared for properly. Tip: if you keep burns to 4 hours at a time, you can maximize your candle's total lifespan.

Can I reuse the vessel?
Absolutely. Once the wax is finished, warm the jar slightly, wipe clean, and repurpose it as a vase, pen cup, or keepsake holder.

📦 Orders & Shipping

How long will it take to receive my order?
Orders ship within 3–5 business days. You’ll receive a tracking email once your package is on its way.

Do you offer local pickup?
At select times and markets — if available, the option will appear at checkout.

Do you ship internationally?
Currently we ship within the U.S., though international shipping is planned for the future.

Can I change or cancel my order?
We can modify or cancel an order within 24 hours of purchase. After that, it may already be in production or transit. Email shop@selahandfig.com for assistance.

🎁 Returns & Exchanges

What is your return policy?
We want you to love your purchase. Unused, unlit candles may be returned or exchanged within 14 days of delivery. Please contact us before sending any items back.

Do you accept returns on burned candles?
Because each candle is hand-poured to order, used candles cannot be returned, but if your candle arrives damaged or defective, please reach out so we can make it right.

My item arrived damaged — what should I do?
Send a photo and your order number to shop@selahandfig.com within 48 hours of delivery, and we’ll replace or refund the item.

What payment methods do you accept?
We accept all major credit cards, Shop Pay, Apple Pay, and PayPal.

Can I use a discount code or gift card?
Yes — enter your code or digital card during checkout.

Do you offer gift wrapping or notes?
Each candle ships beautifully packaged, and we’re happy to include a handwritten gift note. Leave your message at checkout.

Do you sell gift cards?
Yes — digital gift cards are available for purchase in our here in our Shoppe and make lovely last-minute presents.
