High Tea

High Tea

The Memory

No one does tea quite like the British. So when my mom took me to the UK as a grad school graduation gift, I just knew that I had to take High Tea. I originally thought that we'd go to a tea parlor in London, however, we lost a day of travel due to our initial flight being canceled. It was hard enough getting all the other major sights seen in our six-day itinerary while in London Town, so in the end we took it in Wales.

St. Fagan's precisely. If you've ever seen Doctor Who (The David Tennant Years), you might have seen it. This was where David Tennant had played a human teacher at a boys school preparing to send their children to die in The Great War, but fought off alien mayflies instead.

It is a quaint little town meant to be a sort of historical museum or perhaps a monument to days gone by. Thatched roofs on houses with no electricity or heating - or indoor plumbing for that matter. Public urination stations with no privacy or doors to be heard of. And the cutest tea parlor restaurant with the most delicious cranberry scones and Stanton blue cheese sandwiches. Not exactly the pomp and circumstance that you would typically associate with it, but all the classic true elements that make it quintessentially High Tea.

The Inspiration

High Tea was inspired by the ritual of pause and neighborliness — the beauty of afternoon light, the joy found in simple ceremony. It’s an homage to a gentle kind of strength: to hospitality without hurry, to rest and rejuvenation, to keep calm and carry on. Each pour carries the balance of grace and warmth, the scent of soothing steeped in time.

Fragrance Notes

Bergamot • Earl Grey • Clotted Cream

Mood: Calm • Feminine • Reflective
Best For: Afternoon rituals, journaling, quiet hospitality, small celebrations

Behind the Pour

Each High Tea candle is hand-poured in pure beeswax and blended with bright bergamot, sweetened with honey, and grounded by black tea and cream. The wood wick crackles softly, like rain on glass.

It’s the fragrance of grace unhurried — of tea shared and peace kept.

Pairings

Pairs beautifully with Pepperidge Hill and The Olde Chapel, creating a trio of warmth, love, and light conversation.

Reflection

“Better is one handful with tranquility than two handfuls with toil and chasing after the wind.” — Ecclesiastes 4:6

Let this candle remind you that beauty is found in the pause — that peace, once kindled, can warm an entire room.
