Heirloom Hearth

Heirloom Hearth

A slight waft of pine sap over the embers of an olden fire.

The Memory

I've always loved fireplaces. I used to live in a townhouse in Falls Church, VA during grad school and my roommates and I loved to light fires in the wood burning fireplace in our living room, especially in the winter. So when my husband and I bought our first house, the thing that made me fall in love with it was the amazing fireplace. And wouldn't you know that after we moved in we found out it was all for show! It was originally a gas fireplace that had the gas line ripped out and was too small of a chimney to use for wood. What a disappointment.

So when we decided to move, I knew that I wanted to finally have the fireplace of my dreams. Turns out that the house we bought has six fireplaces! God works in mysterious ways, right? Well, the photo featured above is our astoundingly realistic looking gas fireplace in our front parlor. Whenever we light it for autumn or winter parties, our friends always marvel that it is "not real".

I used to think that only a real wood fireplace would be good enough. But the authentic look, feel and sound — not to mention utter convenience of being able to just shut it off whenever we're done using it — makes it the best and most-used fireplace in our house. It's the one we sit in front of time and again. And will hopefully become the heirloom hearth I will pass on to my children.

The Inspiration

Heirloom Hearth was born from those lingering moments after the celebration — when peace takes the place of bustle, and the fire burns steady but gentle. It’s a scent that feels like comfort passed down, like the familiar softness of an old quilt or the quiet grace of evening prayers.

Every family has its own hearth — a space, tangible or not, where warmth is kept and stories are told. This candle is meant to be that light: the fragrance of home, memory, and devotion woven together.

Fragrance Notes

Mistletoe Garland • Sweet Smoke

Mood: Cozy, nostalgic, reflective
Best For: Winter evenings, journaling, after-dinner quiet, late-night reflection

Behind the Pour

Each Heirloom Hearth candle is hand-poured in small batches of pure beeswax, blended with notes of mistletoe softened by the smell of sweet cedar burning down to ash. The wood wick burns with a quiet crackle — a gentle echo of the fireside conversations that inspired it.

It’s a scent of legacy: warm, familiar, and fleeting in all the best ways.

Pairings

Pairs beautifully with: A Cottage Christmas and Capo D'Anno
Together they capture the spirit of hearth, home, and holy hush.

Reflection

“The fire shall ever be burning upon the altar; it shall never go out.” — Leviticus 6:13

Heirloom Hearth reminds us to tend both flame and faith — to keep what is sacred alive, not through grandeur, but through gentleness. May this candle fill your home with warmth that lingers, long after the light fades.
